ఉత్తరప్రదేశ్ రాష్ట్రంలో ప్రయాగ్ రాజ్ అను పుణ్య క్షేత్రం కలదు. ప్రయాగ్ రాజ్ నగరానికి మరొక పేరు అలహాబాద్. ఇది జిల్లా ప్రధానకేంద్రం. ఇచ్చట గంగా, యమున, సరస్వతి అను మూడు నదులు కలసి ఒక సంగమవుతాయి. ఆ కారణముగా త్రివేణ సంగం అని కూడ పిలుస్తారు. ప్రతి 12 సంవత్సరాలకు ఒకసారి  కుంభమేళ జరుగుతుంది. దేశం నలుమూలల నుంచి లక్షలాది యాత్రికులు తండోప తడలుగు వస్తారు. భక్తులు కుంభమేళ సందర్భముగా పుణ్య స్నానములు ఆచారించి, పితృ దేవతలుకు పిండ ప్రధానాలు మొదలగునవి నిర్వహించుతారు. పూర్వం గంగా నదీ తీరములో అనేక మందిరాలు ఉండేవిట! కాల గర్భములో, నదుల ప్రవాహం వలన అనేక ఆలయాలు నీటిలో కలిసిపోయినాయి. పంచ మాధవ క్షేత్రాలలో ఒకటి అయిన వేణు మాధవం మరియు మాధవేశ్వరీ శక్తి పీఠం మొదలగునవి ఉండవచ్చు. అక్బరు  నిర్మించిన కోట మాత్రమే మిగిలిపోయింది. ఇక్కడ నుంచి శ్రీ కంచి పీఠం నకు పోవు త్రోవలో ఒక గుంట ఉంది.  ఇచ్చట  శయనించి యున్న  భారీ ఆంజనేయ స్వామిని దర్శించగలం. దీనికి సమీపంలో కంచి పీఠం వారు మూడు అంతస్ధుల మందిరం  నిర్మించారు. క్రిందన శ్రీ కామాక్షీ అమ్మవారు, మధ్య అంతస్ధులో శ్రీ బాలాజీ, పై అంతస్ధులో శివ లింగము ఉంటాయి.

     శ్రీ కామాక్షీ ఆలయం నకు సుమారు 2 కీ.మీ దూరంలో దారగంజ్ (అలోపి బాగ్) అను ప్రాంతము ఉంది. ఇచ్చట అలోపిదేవి మందిరం  కలదు. కొంత మంది మాధవేశ్వరీ శక్తి పీఠంగా కొలుస్తారు. అమ్మ మూల విరాట్టు విగ్రహరవితమై, గుప్తంగా ఉంటుంది. మందిరం కు బయట గల మండపం నందు ఒక పీఠం ఉంటుంది. ఇది నాలుగు దిక్కులా సమానంగా ఉండును. ఆ పీఠం నకు ఒక ఊయ్యాల కడతారు. ఊయల నందు అమ్మవారు ఉంటారు. నవరాత్రుల సందర్భముగా ఉత్సవాలు జరుగుతాయి. ఆలయం దర్శనం ఉదయం  5 గంటలు నుంచి రాత్రి 8 గంటల వరకు దర్శనం జరుగుతుంది. మంగళవారం, శుక్రవారము భక్తులుతో సందడిగా  ఉంటుంది.

స్ధల పురాణం: పూర్వం అడవిలో ఒక వివాహ బృందం చుట్టూ దొంగలు చుట్టుమూట్టారు. పురుషులందరినీ చంపి, సంపదను దోచుకున్న తర్వాత దొంగలు వధువు యొక్క 'డోలీ' వద్దకు వచ్చి చూడగా వధువు అదృశ్యమవుతుంది. తర్వాత కాలములో ఆ ప్రాంతము కనుమరుగైన కన్య దేవతను పూజించడం ప్రారంభించారు. స్థానికులు వధువును "అలోపి దేవి" గా ఆరాధించుతారు. అలోపి అనగా అదృశ్యం అని అర్ధం. ఆలయం నందు దేవత మూర్తి కనిపించదు. ఇచ్చట సతీ దేవి కుడి చేయి పడిన ప్రదేశముగా చెప్పుచుంటారు. పీఠం నకు ఒక ఊయ్యాల కడతారు. ఊయల నందు అమ్మవారు ఉంటారు. ఆ పీఠం క్రింద బావి ఉంటుంది. ఆ బావిలో శ్రీయంతం ఏర్పాట్టు చేసారు. శ్రీయంతం నిత్యం నీటితో నిండి ఉంటుంది అని పూజారులు చెప్పుచుంటారు.

     దేశం నలుమూలల నుంచి అలహాబాద్ జంక్షన్ కు రైలు సర్వీసులు దొరుకుతాయి. రైల్వే స్టేషన్ బయట ఆటోలు/టాక్సీలు ఉంటాయి. వారణాసి నుంచి అలహాబాద్ సిటి వరకు రైలు ఉంటాయి. అలహాబాద్ సిటి నుంచి కూడ రవాణా సౌకర్యములు కలవు. అలహాబాద్ పట్టణం నందు త్రివేణి సంగమం, కోట, ఆంజనేయ స్వామి (బడా హనుమాన్ జీ) మందిరం, కామాక్షీ ఆలయం, అలోపిదేవి మందిరం, వేణు మాధవం (పంచ మాధవ క్షేత్రాలలో ఒకటి), కళ్యాణి దేవి మందిరం, భరద్వాజ ఆశ్రమం, లలితా దేవి మందిరం (కొంత మంది శక్తి పీఠంగా కొలుస్తారు)  మొదలగునవి దర్శనీయం. యాత్రికులకు మంచి వసతులు దొరుకుతాయి. కొంత మంది పండాలు వసతులు & శ్రాద కర్మలు మొదలగునవి కల్పించుతారు.

Prayage Madhaveswari (Alopidevi)

There is a holy place called Prayag Raj in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Another name for the city of Prayag Raj is Allahabad. It is the district headquarters. Here three rivers namely Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati come together to form a confluence. For that reason it is also known as Trivena Sangam. Kumbh Mela is held once in every 12 years. Lakhs of pilgrims from all over the country visit Tandopa. Devotees perform holy baths on the occasion of Kumbh Mela and perform pinda pradhanas etc. to the paternal deities. Earlier, there were many shrines on the banks of the Ganges! In the womb of time, many temples were submerged due to the flow of rivers. Venu Madhavam, one of the Pancha Madhava Kshetras, and Madhaveswari Shakti Peetha etc. Only the fort built by Akbar remains. From here there is a hole in the path leading to Sri Kanchi Peetham. Here we can visit the huge Anjaneya Swamy who is sleeping. Kanchi Peetham built a three storied temple near this. Sri Kamakshi Ammavara is below, Sri Balaji is in the middle floor and Shiva Lingam is in the upper floor.

     About 2 km from Sri Kamakshi Temple is an area called Daraganj (Alopi Bagh). There is Alopidevi Mandir here. Some measure Madhaveswari as Shakti Peetha. Amma Moola Virattu is idolized and hidden. There is a pedestal in the mandapam outside the mandir. It is equal in four directions. A cradle is made for that pedestal. Amma is in the cradle. Festivals are held on the occasion of Navratri. Darshan of the temple is done from 5 am to 8 pm. Tuesdays and Fridays are crowded with devotees.

Stala Puranam: Once upon a time a wedding party was surrounded by thieves in a forest. After killing all the men and looting the wealth, the bride disappears when the robbers come to the bride's 'dolly'. Later, the area started worshiping the goddess Kanya, who disappeared. Locals worship the bride as "Alopi Devi". Alopi means disappearance. The deity is not visible in the temple. It is said to be the place where the right hand of Goddess Sati fell. A cradle is placed on the pedestal. Amma is in the cradle. Below that pedestal is a well. Sriyantam was arranged in that well. The priests say that Sriyantam is always filled with water.

Train services are available from all over the country to Allahabad Junction. Autos/taxis are available outside the railway station. There are trains from Varanasi to Allahabad City. There are also transport facilities from Allahabad City.

Allahabad town is home to Nandu Triveni Sangam, Fort, Anjaneya Swamy (Bada Hanuman Ji) Temple, Kamakshi Temple, Alopidevi Temple, Venu Madhavam (one of Pancha Madhava Kshetra), Kalyani Devi Temple, Bharadwaja Ashram, Lalita Devi Temple (measured as Shakti by some) etc. Visible. Travelers will find good accommodation. Some provide facilities like pandals & shradha karmas etc.
