మహారాష్ట్రం, నాందేడ్ జిల్లా, నాందేడ్ పట్టణం నకు ఈశాన్యం దిశగా, 135 కీ.మీ దూరాన మహుర్ గడ్ అను అటవీ ప్రాంతము కలదు. ఇది గొప్ప పుణ్య క్షేత్రం. మహుర్ గడ్ బస్ స్టాండ్ కు సుమారు 3 కీ.మీ దూరన కొంత ఎత్తైన కొండ మీద ఏకవీరికా శక్తి పీఠం కలదు. స్ధానికులు * రేణుకా దేవి ఆలయంగా పిలుస్తారు. ఆలయం నందు అమ్మ ముఖం మాత్రమే దర్శనమిస్తుంది. అమ్మ వారి ముఖమంతా సింధూరం పుస్తారు. రేణుకా దేవి (ఏకవీరికా దేవి) మహా తేజో మహిమతో అలరారుతుంది. ఒక ప్రక్క యజ్ఞ పీఠిక మరో ప్రక్క ఒక ఊయల ఉంటుంది. ఆ ఊయ్యాలలో పరుశురాముని విగ్రహం ఉండును. అమ్మ వారికి నిత్యం సేవలు, నైవేద్యములు సమర్పించుట జరుగుతుంది. అమ్మకు 1100 తమలపాకులతో నైవేద్యం సమర్పించుతారు. విజయదశమి సందర్భముగా గొప్ప ఉత్సవాలు నిర్వహించుతారు. ఆలయ ప్రాకారములో గణేశ్, శివ లింగము, భవాని, లక్ష్మీ మొదలగు చిన్న చిన్న మందిరాలు కలవు.
రేణుకా దేవి ముఖ ప్రవేశం నకు సుమారు 3 కీ.మీ దూరాన శ్రీ దత్త పీఠం కలదు. దీనిని శ్రీ క్షేత్రం అని అంటారు. ఇది ఆరు దత్త పీఠాలల్లో ఒకటి. మిగిలనవి పిఠాపురం, కురువాపూర్, ఔదంబర్, నరసోబావాడి, గాణ్గాపూర్. శ్రీ క్షేత్రం (దత్త పీఠం) నకు మరో 3 కీ.మీ దూరాన అనసూయ మందిరం ఉంటుంది. అతి మహాముని భార్య అనసూయ దేవి. త్రిమూర్తులను పసిపిల్లలుగా చేసి, మతృ ప్రేమతో వారి ఆకాలి తీర్చిన పతివ్రతా శిరోమణి.
* రేణుక దేవి దుర్గామాత అవతారంగా నమ్ముతారు. గ్రామీణ సంస్కృతిలో మాతృదేవతగా ప్రసిద్ది చెందింది. అమ్మను ఎల్లమ్మ, దుగ్గవ్వ, ద్యామవ్వ మరియు మరికాంబ అనే పేర్లుతో పూజిస్తారు. ఒక ప్రాంతం నుండి మరో ప్రాంతానికి ఆమె పేరు మరియు లక్షణాలు మారుతూ ఉంటాయి. పురాణాల ప్రకారం, రేణుక జమదగ్ని మహర్షి భార్య. జమదగ్ని మహర్షి ఆమె నమ్మకద్రోహాన్ని అనుమానించి, పరశురాముడిని (కోడుకు) శిరచ్ఛేదం చేయమని ఆదేశించాడు.
పరశురాముడు తన తండ్రికి విధేయుడయ్యాడు మరియు జమదగ్ని మహర్షి తన కుమారునికి ప్రతిఫలమివ్వాలనుకున్నప్పుడు, పరశురాముడు తన తల్లిని తిరిగి బ్రతికించమని కోరాడు. ఆ విధంగా పరశురాముని తల్లి అయిన రేణుక తిరిగి బ్రతికింది.
సికింద్రాబాద్ - మన్మాడ్ రైలు మార్గములో నాందేడ్ రైల్వే జంక్షన్ ఉంది. ఇక్కడ అన్ని రైలు ఆగుతాయి. నాందేడ్ నుంచి మహుర్ గడ్ కు బస్సులున్నాయి. మహుర్ గడ్ బస్ స్టాండ్ బయుట వేన్లు, ఆటోలు మొదలగు రవాణా సౌకర్యములు దొరుకుతాయి. కొండ పైన గల శ్రీ రేణుకాదేవి మందిరం, శ్రీ దత్త పీఠం, శ్రీ అనసూయ మందిరం కు రవాణా సౌకర్యములు బయులుదేరును. ఘాట్ రోడ్ మార్గములో ముందుగా రేణుకాదేవి మెట్లు మార్గం వస్తుంది. రవాణా సదుపాయములు మెట్లు మార్గం వరకు మాత్రమే ఉంటాయి. భక్తులు 250 మెట్లును అధిరోహించి అమ్మ మందిరం చేరకోవాలి.
మహుర్ గడ్ బస్ స్టాండ్ నుంచి వివిధ ప్రాంతములుకు బస్సులు బయులు దేరుతాయి. తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్రం లోని అదిలాబాద్ కు కూడ బస్సులు బయులుదేరును. వీటి మధ్య దూరం 70 కీ.మీ గా ఉండును. మహారాష్ట్రం - తెలంగాణ సరిహద్దు నందు గల పర్వతారణ్య ప్రాంతములో మహుర్ గడ్ ప్రాంతము ఉంటుంది.

Mahurye Ekaveerika (Renuka Devi)

Maharashtra, Nanded district, towards the northeast of Nanded town, 135 km away, there is a forest area called Mahurgad. It is a great shrine. About 3 km from Mahurgad bus stand there is Ekaveerika Shakti Peeth on some high hill. Locals call it *Renuka Devi Temple. Only the face of Amma is visible in the temple. Amma spreads vermilion all over their faces. Renuka Devi (Ekaveerika Devi) revels in maha tejo glory. On one side there is a Yajna Peethika and on the other side there is a cradle. There is an idol of Parushura in that cradle. Services and offerings are regularly offered to Amma. 1100 betel leaves are offered to Amma. Great festivals are organized on the occasion of Vijayadashami. There are small shrines like Ganesha, Shiva Lingam, Bhavani, Lakshmi etc. in the temple rampart.
About 3 km from Renuka Devi Mukha entrance is Sri Datta Peetham. It is called Sri Kshetram. It is one of the six Datta Peethas. The rest are Pithapuram, Kuruapur, Oudambar, Narasobawadi and Gangapur. Another 3 km from Sri Kshetram (Datta Peetha) is Anasuya Mandir. Ati Mahamuni's wife Anasuya Devi. Pativrata Shiromani, who made the Trinity babies and quenched their hunger with motherly love.
* Renuka is believed to be an incarnation of Goddess Durga. Known as Mother Goddess in rural culture. Amma is worshiped as Ellamma, Duggavva, Dyamavva and Marikamba. Her name and attributes vary from region to region. According to legend, Renuka was the wife of sage Jamadagni. Sage Jamadagni suspects her infidelity and orders Parashurama (the cow) to be beheaded.
Parashurama became loyal to his father and when sage Jamadagni wanted to reward his son, Parashurama asked his mother to come back to life. Thus Renuka, the mother of Parasurama, came back to life.
Nanded Railway Junction is located on the Secunderabad - Manmad railway line. All trains stop here. There are buses from Nanded to Mahurgad. Transport facilities like vans, autos etc. are available outside Mahurgad bus stand. There are transport facilities to Sri Renukadevi Mandir, Sri Datta Peetham and Sri Anasuya Mandir on top of the hill. First on the ghat road route comes the Renukadevi stairs route. Transportation facilities are only up to the stairway. Devotees have to climb 250 steps to reach Amma Mandir.
Buses depart from Mahurgad bus stand to various places. Buses also leave for Adilabad in Telangana state. The distance between them is 70 km. Mahurgad region is located in the mountainous forest area on the border of Maharashtra and Telangana.
