జ్వాలాయం వైష్ణవీదేవి (జ్వాలాజీ)

జ్వాలముఖి, హిమాచల ప్రదేశ్

     హిమాచల ప్రదేశ్,  రాజధాని కాంగ్రా పట్టణం నకు ఆగ్నేయం దిశగా, సుమారు 35 కీ.మీ దూరంలో జ్వాలముఖి అను క్షేత్రం కలదు. ఆలయం ధౌలాధర్ పర్వత శ్రేణిలో ఉంది. ఇక్కడ జ్వాలాజీ మాత మందిరం ఉంటుంది.  స్ధానికులు జ్వాలాముఖిగా పిలుస్తారు.  ఆలయం నందు అమ్మవారు " జ్వాల " రూపంలో దర్శనమిస్తారు.  ఆలయం రాతి దర్వాజా గుండా చూస్తే నిత్యం వెలుగుతున్న మహాజ్వాలను చూడగలము.  భక్తులు జ్వాలాజీ దేవిగా సేవించుతారు.    ఇది అష్టాదశ శక్తిపీఠాలలో వైష్ణవీదేవి పీఠంగా కొలుస్తారు.  ఇక్కడ ఈ జ్వాలేకాక, మహాకాళి, అన్నపూర్ణ, చండి, హింగుళ, వింధ్యవాసిని, మహాలక్ష్మి, సరస్వతి, అంబిక, అంజిదేవి అనే పేర్లుతో మరో తొమ్మిది జ్వాలా దేవతలను కూడ చూడగలము.  జ్వాలాముఖి దేవి గర్భగుడి లోపల గల ఒక రాతిలో చిన్న పగులు నుండి వెలువడే శాశ్వతమైన జ్వాలని భక్తులు పూజించుతారు. శ్రీయంత్రానికి ఎర్ర వస్త్రం, పసుపు కుంకుమలతో పూజలు నిర్వహిస్తుంటారు జ్వాలాముఖి అంటే నోట్లోంచి మంటలు వస్తున్న అమ్మవారు అని అర్థం. అందుకు ప్రతీకగానే ఇక్కడి మందిరంలో అమ్మవారి విగ్రహానికి బదులుగా కొండ గోడలనుంచి, చిన్న నీటి కుండం గోడలలోంచి వస్తున్న మంటలను అమ్మవారిగా భావించి పూజలు చేస్తుంటారు. శ్రీయంత్రం ఉన్న ప్రదేశంలో ఎర్రని శాలువతోను బంగారు ఆభరణాలతోనూ కప్పి ఉంచుతారు. శ్రీయంత్రానికి ఎర్ర వస్త్రం, పసుపు కుంకుమలతో పూజలు నిర్వహిస్తుంటారు. 

అమ్మకు నెయ్యితో తయారు చేసిన నైవేద్యములు సమర్పించుతారు. ఆలయ ప్రాంగణములో 12 జ్వాలలును చూడవచ్చును. మొఘల్ రాజవంశం చెందిన అక్బర్ చక్రవర్తి మంటలను ఆర్పడానికి ప్రయత్నించారు. అక్బర్ ప్రయత్నములు విఫలం చెందినాయి. శక్తి మహిమలు గ్రహించిన అక్బర్ ఒక వెండి ఛత్రం బహుకరించినాడు. గర్భాలయం నకు ఎడమ వైపున  "అక్బరు ఛత్ర" ఉండును.  దేవి నవరాత్రులు సందర్భముగా ఉత్సవాలు ఘనంగా జరుగుతాయి.  వేలాది మంది యాత్రికులు తమ ఆధ్యాత్మిక కోరికలను తీర్చుకోవడానికి ఏడాది పొడవునా పుణ్యక్షేత్రాన్ని సందర్శిస్తారు. 

చరిత్ర: కాంగ్రా ప్రాంతమును పాలించిన రాజా భూమి చంద్ గొప్ప దేవి భక్తుడు.  ఒక రోజు రాజు స్వప్నం నందు దేవి కనిపించి, కటోచ్ పవిత్ర స్థలం అన్వేషణకు ఆదేశించుతుంది. రాజు ఆ ప్రాంతమును కనుగొని, ప్రదేశంలో ఒక ఆలయాన్ని నిర్మించాడు.  జ్వాలాముఖి మందిరంలో బంగారు పూతపూసిన గోపురం, వివిధ శిఖరాలు మరియు వెండి ప్రవేశ ద్వారం ఉన్నాయి.

     డిల్లీ  - జమ్మూతావి రైలు మార్గములో పఠాన్ కోట రైల్వే జంక్షన్ ఉంది.  ఇక్కడ అన్ని రైలు ఆగుతాయి.  పఠాన్ కోట - జోగేంద్ర నగర్ వరకు బ్రాంచి రైలు మార్గం  ఉంది.  ఇది సుందర లోయల పైన గల ఘాట్ రైలు మార్గం.  ప్రయాణం ఆహ్లోదకరం గా ఉంటుంది.  పఠాన్ కోట రైల్వే జంక్షన్ కు 83 కీ.మీ దూరంలో జ్వాలముఖి రోడ్డు, మరో 11 కీ.మీ దూరంలో కాంగ్రా రైల్వే స్టేషన్స్ ఉంటాయి.  జ్వాలముఖి రోడ్డు రైల్వే స్టేషన్ ప్రాంతమును రానితల్ అని పిలుస్తారు.  ఇక్కడ నుంచి జ్వాలముఖి పట్టణం నకు బస్సులు/టాక్సీలు ఉంటాయి.  వీటి మధ్య దూరం 20 కీ.మీ.

     హిమాచల ప్రదేశ్ కు రాజధాని కాంగ్రా పట్టణం.  యాత్రికులుకు మంచి వసతులు కలవు.  ఇచ్చట వజ్రేశ్వరీ దేవి (శక్తి) ఆలయం దర్శించగలం.  కాంగ్రా నుంచి జ్వాలముఖి కి బస్సులు/టాక్సీలు అధికంగా ఉంటాయి.  హిమాచల ప్రదేశ్ & పంజాబ్ ప్రాంతములు నుంచి జ్వాలముఖి కి బస్సులున్నాయి.

Flame Vaishnave Devi (Javalaji)

     Jwalamukhi field is located about 35 km south-east of Kangra town, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. The temple is located in the Dhauladhar mountain range. There is Jwalaji Mata Mandir here. Locally known as Jwalamukhi. Amma appears in the form of "flame" in the temple. If we look through the stone gate of the temple, we can see the eternally burning mahajwa. Devotees worship Jwalaji as Devi. It is measured as the Vaishnave Devi Peetha in Ashtadasha Shaktipeethas. Here we can also see nine other flame deities named Jwalekaka, Mahakali, Annapurna, Chandi, Hingula, Vindhyavasini, Mahalakshmi, Saraswati, Ambika, Anjidevi. Devotees worship the eternal flame that emanates from a small crack in a rock inside the Jwalamukhi Devi sanctum sanctorum. Sriyantra is worshiped with red cloth and yellow saffron. As a symbol of that, instead of the idol of the Goddess in the mandir, the flames coming from the walls of the hill and the walls of the small water pot are worshiped as goddesses. The Sriyantram area is covered with a red shawl and gold ornaments. Sriyantra is worshiped with red cloth and yellow saffron.

Offerings made of ghee are offered to Amma. 12 flames can be seen in the temple premises. Emperor Akbar of the Mughal dynasty tried to extinguish the fire. Akbar's efforts failed. Realizing the glories of power, Akbar presented a silver umbrella. To the left of the sanctum sanctorum is the "Akbar Chhatra". Festivals are held grandly on the occasion of Devi Navratri. Thousands of pilgrims visit the shrine throughout the year to fulfill their spiritual desires.

History: Raja Bhumi Chand who ruled the Kangra region was a great devotee of Devi. One day Devi appears in the king's dream and orders the search of Katoch's holy place. The king discovered the area and built a temple on the spot. The Jwalamukhi shrine has a gold gilded dome, various spires and a silver entrance.

Pathan Kota Railway Junction is located on Delhi-Jammuthavi railway line. All trains stop here. There is a branch railway line up to Pathan Kota - Jogendra Nagar. It is a ghat railway over scenic valleys. Travel is fun. Jwalamukhi Road is 83 km from Pathan Kota Railway Junction and Kangra Railway Stations are 11 km away. Jwalamukhi Road railway station area is known as Ranital. From here there are buses/taxis to Jwalamukhi town. The distance between them is 20 km.

Kangra is the capital city of Himachal Pradesh. Travelers have good facilities. Vajreshwari Devi (Shakti) temple can be visited here. There are plenty of buses/taxis from Kangra to Jwalamukhi. There are buses from Himachal Pradesh & Punjab to Jwalamukhi.
